Assisted Shopping Program

Flexible and tailored to the individual mobility needs of each person the Assisted Shopping Service offers two different types of accompanied shopping and social support for clients living in the City of Sydney, South of Cleveland Street and Glebe.

Individual assisted shopping – Shoppers travel in a car to the shops and are assisted from and into of the home and at the shops by a paid worker.

This service can also include assistance in the preparation of a shopping list, doing the shopping at the supermarket for large amounts of shopping, and carrying shopping into the home and putting it away on the return home.

If at times an existing client is too unwell or recently out of hospital a list shop can be done.

Bus assisted shopping - Shoppers are assisted in and out of their homes by a trained paid worker, transported to shops by bus and met at shops by volunteers. These volunteers will accompany shoppers and help as required to shop, pay bills, do banking and other activities at the shopping centre.

This program is in high demand and all new clients undergo a home assessment to gauge their eligibility and to allocate the most appropriate type of shopping service.

The cost of this service is $10:00
